He also speaks Mandarin Chinese and previously served as a volunteer missionary in Melbourne, Australia, before living abroad in Beijing, China. These experiences continue to enrich the way he connects with patients from diverse backgrounds.
Dr. Smedley’s patient-first approach is rooted in his own experience as a child, when an ENT procedure dramatically improved his health and inspired his career path. He carries that same sense of compassion into every visit, bringing a deeply personal approach to patient care. Whenever appropriate, he offers minimally invasive solutions to reduce discomfort and support a quicker recovery. He also emphasizes collaboration, working alongside patients, parents, and other providers to ensure care is clear, personalized, and effective for both children and adults.
