At Oasis Ear, Nose & Throat, we fully embrace emerging, yet proven, perspectives and patient-focused therapies to address sinus problems and allergies. Our goal is to help our patients regain the ability to breathe freely without worrying about a constantly runny nose, congestion, or sinus pressure. James Osborne

James Osborne, DO, FACOOS

Board Certified Otolaryngologist & Facial Plastic Surgeon

James Osborne, DO, FACOOS, is an ear, nose, and throat doctor at Oasis Ear, Nose, and Throat in Surprise, Arizona. Dr. Osborne has been practicing in the Phoenix valley since August of 2006.
 
Born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio, Dr. Osborne earned his undergraduate bachelor of science degree in pharmacy from The Ohio State University in 1995. After practicing pharmacy for two years, he pursued his medical degree from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2001. Dr. Osborne stayed in Erie, Pennsylvania, and completed his medical/general surgery internship at LECOM Health Millcreek Community Hospital and his dual otorhinolaryngology and facial plastic surgery residency at UPMC Hamot Medical Center (formerly Millcreek Community Hospital). He served as chief otolaryngology resident in 2005.
 
Dr. Osborne is an adjunct clinical professor at Midwestern University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Glendale, Arizona. He is also a founding physician member of the Utu Humanitarian Alliance with hopes to one day take it to the next step and personally care for those patients in under-served countries. In March 2017, Honor Health Deer Valley Hospital presented Dr. Osborne with an award in honor of his Citizenship and Community Service.
 
In his free time, he and his wife enjoy watching their children's sporting events and spending time in the great outdoors. He enjoys being an ENT physician and surgeon because he gets to care for patients young and old.

Bryan Smedley

Bryan Smedley, DO, FACOOS

Board Certified Otolaryngologist & Facial Plastic Surgeon

Bryan Smedley, DO, FACOOS, is an ear, nose, and throat doctor at Oasis Ear, Nose, and Throat, located in Surprise, Arizona. Dr. Smedley has been practicing in the Phoenix valley since January of 2017.
 
Born and raised in Layton, Utah, Dr. Smedley earned his undergraduate degree from Brigham Young University in 2005. He completed medical school at Midwestern University Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2010, where he was selected into a pre-doctoral teaching Fellowship in Osteopathic Manual Medicine. He completed his residency training at Oklahoma State University Medical Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma, in 2015. He served as chief otolaryngology resident for two years (2013-2015) and was honored as Resident of the Year in 2015, which included over 120 residents and fellows from 11 different training programs. After residency, Dr. Smedley stayed in Oklahoma and practiced in a private setting for two years before moving to Arizona.
 
Dr. Smedley also speaks Mandarin Chinese, and he served as a volunteer service missionary in Melbourne, Australia (1999-2001). He and his wife lived in Beijing, China, in 2002. They love raising their children and family pets.
 
Dr. Smedley fell in love with the field of ENT at the age of 11, when he underwent an ENT procedure. After his recovery, he felt so much better that he said, “I want to do that for people.” He loves to provide all areas of otolaryngology care for patients of all ages, including children.

Meridith Wiley

Meridith Wiley, RN

Registered Nurse & Allergy Department

Meridith Wiley, RN, is the head of the allergy department at Oasis, Ear, Nose, and Throat, located in Surprise, Arizona. She considers it an honor and a privilege to serve individuals and families living in and around Maricopa County.
 
Meridith graduated with an associate's degree in nursing from Yavapai College in Prescott, Arizona, in 2002. She then furthered her nursing education by earning a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from Northern Arizona University, located in Flagstaff, Arizona, in 2014.
 
Meridith has specialized in the care and treatment of patients with allergies since 2003. She routinely provides exemplary care to all patients with unparalleled kindness. She finds great satisfaction in educating them and helping them achieve an allergy-free lifestyle and an improved quality of life.

Alfred Koos

Alfred Koos, PA-C, MSPAS

Physician Assistant

Alfred Koos, PA-C, received his Bachelor’s degree of Science in Education from Hofstra University, a Master’s in Exercise Physiology from Arizona State University and his Master’s in Physician Assistant Studies from A.T. Still University in 2015.
 
He holds specialized certifications in strength and conditioning and corrective exercise. A majority of his 9 years of experience as a Physician Assistant were in Neurosurgery, Orthopedic Surgery, Pain Management and Urgent Care in his part time.
 
He is very excited to move onto the next chapter of his career, shifting into the specialty of Otolaryngology and ENT surgery.
 
Al has been married to his lovely wife, Maritza, for 10 years and they have 2 beautiful daughters, Chloe and Ava.
 
He enjoys weight training/exercise, hiking, cooking, traveling and spending quality time with his family.

Amanda Abrams

Amanda Abrams Gunn, MBS, MSPA, PA-C

Physician Assistant

Amanda Abrams Gunn MBS, MSPA, PA-C, Received her Masters in Biomedical Sciences, with an emphasis on Diabetes Research, from Midwestern university and her Masters in Physician Assistant Studies from South University. Amanda specialized in Family Medicine and Internal Medicine for 8 years prior to transitioning into the specialty of Otolaryngology and ENT.
 
Amanda has been married to her wonderful husband for 14 years and they have three amazing children.
 
Amanda loves playing board games, watching and playing sports and spending quality time with family when she is not taking care of her patients.

Keelin Swartz

Keelin Swartz, FNP-C

Family Nurse Practitioner

Keelin Swartz, FNP-C, was born and raised in Phoenix and has always wanted a career helping others. She initially thought she wanted to become a doctor and received her Bachelor of Science in Biology with a concentration in genetics, cell and developmental biology. After spending time with family members in the hospital, she realized that nursing was her calling. She received her Bachelor's in Nursing from Chamberlain University in 2014 and started her pediatric hematology and oncology career. She graduated from Chamberlain University with a Master's in Nursing - Family Medicine in December 2021 and continued her career in pediatric and adult hematology, specializing in bleeding disorders. After much cross-exposure in her previous position, she changed her focus to Ear, Nose, and Throat care.

She has been married to her husband, Trevor, for 3 years. They have a rambunctious 2-year-old son, Torrin. She enjoys reading, spending time with family, and traveling.

Zina Nektalova, PA-C

Zina Nektalova, PA-C

Physician Assistant

Zina Nektalova, PA-C, received her Bachelor of Science in Life Sciences degree from Arizona State University and her Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from A.T. Still University. Zina worked for nine years in Urgent Care, where she developed an immense wealth of knowledge for acute and chronic outpatient illness and injury management. She is ready to further her career by specializing in Ear, Nose, and Throat!

When Zina is not working, she spends her time with her husband and 3 sons. Zina loves attending sports practice with her children, traveling to new places, cooking, and relaxing at home.

Travis Waschek, FNP

Family Nurse Practitioner

Travis Waschek is a Family Nurse Practitioner currently practicing at Oasis Ear, Nose, and Throat in Surprise, AZ.

Travis is originally from Minnesota, where he developed his love for music, movies, and sports. He decided to pursue a career in healthcare once he saw the impact healthcare professionals had after undergoing major surgery as a teen. He spent over 10 years as a bedside nurse in the intensive care unit. He then obtained his Master in Science and Nursing from Chamberlain University. He has previously worked as a Nurse Practitioner in cardiology.

Travis lives with his wife, Emma, and son Elliott. He enjoys watching football (Go Vikings!), concerts, and movies in his free time.

Jenna Bolger

Jenna Bolger, NP

Nurse Practitioner

Jenna is from Pennsylvania, where she started her nursing career in a surgical-trauma ICU. She decided to further advance her career and knowledge in healthcare as a travel nurse in different specialty ICUs, working in Pittsburgh, PA. Manhattan, NY. Tampa, FL, and Phoenix, AZ. She obtained her Master of Science in Nursing from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, PA. Jenna had previously worked as a Nurse Practitioner in Infectious Disease before transitioning into the specialty of Otolaryngology.

Jenna enjoys taking her two dogs on hikes, paddle boarding, F45 workouts, and hanging out with friends on the weekends.
