James Osborne, DO, FACOOS
Board Certified Otolaryngologist & Facial Plastic Surgeon
James Osborne, DO, FACOOS is a board-certified ear, nose, and throat (ENT) physician at Oasis ENT in Surprise, Arizona. He has been providing advanced ENT care to patients across the Phoenix Valley since 2006.
Dr. Osborne earned his Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from Ohio State University in 1995 and practiced pharmacy for two years before pursuing medicine. He received his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2001.
He completed a medical/general surgery internship at LECOM Health Millcreek Community Hospital, followed by a dual residency in Otorhinolaryngology and Facial Plastic Surgery at UPMC Hamot Medical Center in Erie, Pennsylvania, where he served as Chief Otolaryngology Resident in 2005.
Dr. Osborne is an Adjunct Clinical Professor at Midwestern University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Glendale, Arizona. He is also a founding physician member of the Utu Humanitarian Alliance, with hopes to personally provide care for patients in underserved countries in the future. In recognition of his commitment to community service, HonorHealth Deer Valley Hospital presented him with a Citizenship and Community Service Award in 2017.
Dr. Osborne takes a patient-first approach to ear, nose, and throat care, focusing on less invasive treatments whenever possible to support faster recovery and long-term relief. He believes in a collaborative style of medicine, taking time to listen, explain options clearly, and partner with patients in their care so they can achieve a better quality of life.

Bryan Smedley, DO, FACOOS
Board Certified Otolaryngologist & Facial Plastic Surgeon
Bryan Smedley, DO, FACOOS, is a board-certified ear, nose, and throat (ENT) physician at Oasis ENT in Surprise, Arizona. He has been practicing in the Phoenix Valley since 2017, caring for both adult and pediatric patients with comprehensive ENT and sinus needs.
Dr. Smedley earned his undergraduate degree from Brigham Young University in 2005 before completing medical school at Midwestern University Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2010. During medical school, he was selected for a pre-doctoral teaching fellowship in Osteopathic Manual Medicine.
He completed his otolaryngology residency at Oklahoma State University Medical Center in 2015, serving as chief resident from 2013–2015 and receiving the Resident of the Year award in 2015 among more than 120 residents and fellows. After residency, he practiced privately in Oklahoma before moving back to Arizona.
Dr. Smedley is board-certified in otolaryngology and a Fellow of the American College of Osteopathic Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery (FACOOS). He also speaks Mandarin Chinese and previously served as a volunteer missionary in Melbourne, Australia, before living abroad in Beijing, China. These experiences continue to enrich the way he connects with patients from diverse backgrounds.
Dr. Smedley’s patient-first approach is rooted in his own experience as a child, when an ENT procedure dramatically improved his health and inspired his career path. He carries that same sense of compassion into every visit, treating patients as he would his own family. Whenever appropriate, he offers minimally invasive solutions to reduce discomfort and support a quicker recovery. He also emphasizes collaboration, working alongside patients, parents, and other providers to ensure care is clear, personalized, and effective for both children and adults.

Meridith Wiley, RN

Meridith Wiley, RN, leads the Allergy Department at Oasis ENT in Surprise, Arizona. With two decades of nursing experience and a focus on allergy care since 2003, she is dedicated to helping patients find lasting allergy relief and enjoy better day-to-day living.
Meridith began her nursing career after earning her Associate Degree in Nursing from Yavapai College in Prescott, Arizona, in 2002. She later advanced her education with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, Arizona, in 2014.
Meridith takes a patient-first approach, providing compassionate, individualized attention to every person she sees. She is known for her kindness and dedication, making patients feel heard and supported. Education is central to her care, and she takes time to explain testing and treatment options so patients can make confident, informed choices. By focusing on safe, minimally invasive therapies such as immunotherapy and lifestyle guidance, she helps patients find relief sooner and achieve lasting results. Her greatest satisfaction comes from seeing patients and families enjoy a healthier, more comfortable life—free from the daily burden of allergies.

Alfred Koos, PA-C, MSPAS
Physician Assistant
Alfred (“Al”) Koos, PA-C, is a certified physician assistant at Oasis ENT in Surprise, Arizona. He is now proud to bring his skills into otolaryngology and ENT surgery, supporting patients across the Phoenix Valley.
Al earned his Bachelor of Science in Education from Hofstra University, followed by a Master’s in Exercise Physiology from Arizona State University. He then completed his Master of Physician Assistant Studies at A.T. Still University in 2015.
Over the past nine years, he has practiced as a physician assistant in neurosurgery, orthopedic surgery, pain management, and urgent care. He also holds advanced certifications in strength and conditioning and corrective exercise, which complement his medical and surgical training.
Al takes a patient-first approach to otolaryngology and ENT surgery, drawing on his broad surgical experience and training in exercise physiology to support recovery and long-term health. He values collaboration with physicians and patients, and when possible, emphasizes minimally invasive treatments that help patients return to daily life with greater comfort and confidence.

Amanda Abrams Gunn, MBS, MSPA, PA-C
Physician Assistant
Amanda Abrams Gunn, MBS, MSPA, PA-C, is a certified physician assistant at Oasis ENT in Surprise, Arizona. She now focuses her career on otolaryngology and ENT care, supporting patients with ear, nose, and throat conditions across the Phoenix Valley.
Amanda earned her Master of Biomedical Sciences (MBS) with an emphasis in Diabetes Research from Midwestern University, followed by her Master of Physician Assistant Studies (MSPA) from South University.
She practiced in family medicine and internal medicine for eight years, gaining extensive experience in comprehensive patient care. Today, she draws on that broad foundation to support patients and physicians in her role at Oasis ENT.
Amanda believes that building strong relationships with patients is the foundation of effective care. She takes a patient-first approach, focusing on understanding each person’s needs and guiding them through their options with clarity and compassion. With her background in primary care, she brings a collaborative style to ENT, working alongside physicians, patients, and families to create treatment plans that support comfort, recovery, and long-term wellness.

Keelin Swartz, FNP-C
Family Nurse Practitioner
Keelin Swartz, FNP-C, is a certified family nurse practitioner at Oasis ENT in Surprise, Arizona. She specializes in ear, nose, and throat (ENT) care, providing compassionate treatment for both children and adults.
Keelin was born and raised in Phoenix and always knew she wanted a career helping others. She first earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology with a concentration in genetics, cell, and developmental biology. After spending time with family members in the hospital, she recognized that nursing was her true calling.
She completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from Chamberlain University in 2014 and began her career in pediatric hematology and oncology. In 2021, she earned her Master of Science in Nursing – Family Medicine from Chamberlain University and continued her career in pediatric and adult hematology, specializing in bleeding disorders. After much cross-exposure in that role, Keelin transitioned her career to ear, nose, and throat care, where she now applies her diverse medical background to support patients of all ages.
Keelin takes a patient-first approach, focusing on attentive listening and clear communication. She values collaboration with physicians and families, drawing on her diverse background in pediatrics, hematology, and family medicine to bring a well-rounded perspective to ENT. She is committed to delivering compassionate care that helps patients feel comfortable, supported, and confident in their treatment.

Zina Nektalova, PA-C
Physician Assistant
Zina Nektalova, PA-C is a certified physician assistant specializing in Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT) care. She brings nearly a decade of clinical experience to her role at Oasis ENT in Surprise, Arizona.
Zina earned her Bachelor of Science in Life Sciences from Arizona State University and her Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from A.T. Still University.
Before joining Oasis ENT, she worked in Urgent Care for nine years, where she developed extensive experience managing acute and chronic outpatient conditions. Her strong background in general medicine provides a solid foundation for her specialty focus in ENT.
She is a certified Physician Assistant (PA-C) and continues to expand her expertise through specialized ENT training and collaboration with her colleagues at Oasis ENT.
Zina takes a patient-centered approach, ensuring each person feels heard, respected, and involved in their care. She prioritizes minimally invasive treatments whenever possible to help patients achieve relief with less downtime and quicker recovery. Zina also emphasizes team-based, collaborative care, partnering with patients and physicians to create treatment plans tailored to individual needs.

Travis Waschek, MSN, FNP-C, is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner specializing in ear, nose, and throat (ENT) care at Oasis ENT in Surprise, Arizona. He brings more than a decade of bedside nursing and advanced practice experience, providing patient-centered care for both common and complex ENT conditions.
Travis earned his Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from Chamberlain University after more than 10 years serving as an intensive care unit (ICU) nurse. He later advanced into practice as a Nurse Practitioner and gained valuable experience in cardiology before focusing on ENT care.
Travis’s years in the ICU and cardiology taught him the importance of compassion, communication, and teamwork in medicine. He brings that same approach to ENT care, taking time to listen and involve patients in every step of their treatment. His philosophy emphasizes collaborative decision-making, minimally invasive options when possible, and a focus on safe, timely recovery so patients can get back to the activities they enjoy.

Jenna Bolger, NP

Jenna Bolger, MSN, FNP-C, is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner specializing in ear, nose, and throat (ENT) care at Oasis ENT in Surprise, Arizona. She brings years of diverse nursing and advanced practice experience, from critical care to specialty medicine, to provide thorough and patient-focused ENT care.
Jenna began her career in a surgical-trauma ICU in Pennsylvania, then expanded her expertise as a travel nurse in multiple specialty ICUs across Pittsburgh, Manhattan, Tampa, and Phoenix. She earned her Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, PA and is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C). Before focusing on otolaryngology, she gained valuable clinical experience as a Nurse Practitioner in infectious disease, further strengthening her ability to manage complex patient needs.
Jenna’s background in critical care and infectious disease shaped her belief that every patient deserves attentive, individualized care. Kimberly Jager, MSN, FNP-C, is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner providing ear, nose, and throat (ENT) care at Oasis ENT in Surprise, Arizona. She has more than 10 years of nursing and advanced practice experience.
Originally from Tucson, Arizona, Kimberly earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from the University of Arizona in 2012. She began her nursing career in Phoenix and gained over a decade of acute care experience, with a clinical focus in cardiology, across several West Phoenix hospitals. Kimberly advanced her training by completing a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN), Family Nurse Practitioner at Grand Canyon University. She is now a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C) practicing in otolaryngology (ENT).
Kimberly believes in delivering care that combines clinical expertise with compassion and respect. Drawing on her background in cardiology and acute care, she understands the importance of listening closely to patients and involving them in each step of their treatment. Betty Ayele, FNP-C
Family Nurse Practitioner
Betty Ayele, MSN, FNP-C is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner specializing in ear, nose, and throat (ENT) care. She provides compassionate sinus, allergy, and general ENT services at Oasis ENT in Surprise, Arizona.
Betty earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Grand Canyon University in 2016. She began her nursing career in the Neuro Progressive Care Unit before advancing to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), where she cared for patients with complex medical needs.
She went on to complete her Master of Science in Nursing at Chamberlain University, becoming a Family Nurse Practitioner. Betty gained valuable experience as an FNP in retail healthcare clinics prior to focusing her career in otolaryngology. She is board-certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C) and continues to expand her ENT expertise through advanced training and patient care at Oasis ENT.
Betty believes in a patient-first approach, combining attentive listening with evidence-based care. She values patient education, collaborative decision-making, and treatment plans that support each individual’s goals. By focusing on minimally invasive options and faster recovery times, she strives to help patients regain comfort and quality of life with confidence and trust.
